SSW #024: Porter Valley circular via Whiteley Woods

- Start/end point: start at Rustlings Road/Whiteley Woods mini-roundabout, finish at The Wonky Labrador.

Terrain: mostly paved, though some sections unpaved - walking boots advisable

Last soundwalk of 2026! This gentle ramble will take us along the Porter Valley, passing by the Nature Reserve and up to Whiteley Wood centre, before turning around and taking us back along the Porter Brook and up through Nether Green. The walk will finish around 1600 at The Wonky Labrador, where we have the upstairs area inside booked for us from 1600-1800 for a wee festive social to round off the year! Feel free to join just for the walk if that suits you best 🎄
A medium-length, slower-paced walk open to all ages - we will aim to stay quiet throughout. Wear weather-appropriate clothing, bring snacks/water, and please also bring something to make listening notes, such as a notebook and pen, or an audio recorder if you have one. I’ll provide printouts for everyone with a map, listening prompts, and some info about the area.
The Wonky Labrador is child-friendly and serves a wide range of drinks, catering for no/low alcohol, vegan, and gluten-free. The upstairs area is only accessible by stairs.
